Francisco leads Newmarket over Lindsay, 4-2

Behind a great game by Brandon Francisco, who had two goals and two assists, the Newmarket Hurricanes defeated the Lindsay Muskies, 4-2.

Francisco's tallies came on the power play at 13:36 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Newmarket and 19:51 into the third to make the score 4-2 Newmarket.

Newmarket's offense rang up 36 shots on Lindsay's net.

Newmarket also got points from Chris Chiste, who also had one goal and one assist and Daniel Leavens, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Travis Dermott and Kyler Nixon, who contributed one a piece.

The Muskies were helped by Louis-David Bourgault, who registered one goal. Bourgault scored 17:10 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Newmarket. Dean Klomp assisted on the tally. Matt McCartney also scored for Lindsay. More assists for Lindsay came via Vince Herlihey, who had one.

Matthew Wintjes recorded 23 saves for the Hurricanes. Newmarket incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Hurricanes, Austin Rigney was ejected from the game. Tanner Davis made 32 saves for Lindsay on 35 shots. The Muskies incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
