Murden's big game bests Orangeville in 7-1 Georgetown win

Robbie Murden had two goals and two assists to lead the Georgetown Raiders to a 7-1 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

Murden scored at 16:18 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown and again while on the power play 13:01 into the third to make the score 6-1 Georgetown.

Georgetown's Knick Dawe was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. Dawe certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.94 entering the contest.

The Raiders stifled Orangeville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown's offense rang up 59 shots on the Flyers' net. The Raiders found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Georgetown has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Georgetown also got points from Nick Perruccio, who also registered one goal and one assist and Anthony Marra, who also had one goal and one assist. Brendan Woods also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via David Miller and Steve Hladin, who contributed one a piece and Alex Botten, Phil Kiss, and Jacob Bauchman, who each chipped in two.

Orangeville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Flyers average 3.2 goals per game. Orangeville struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Raiders to score three power play goals on five chances. The Flyers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Orangeville was led by Blake Forslund, who scored the team's only goal. Forslund scored 12:55 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Jordan Carvalho provided the assist.

Georgetown incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bo Bessette made 52 saves for the Flyers on 59 shots. Orangeville registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
