Cobourg beats Wellington 3-0 as Perry gains shutout

Nathan Perry made 33 saves to complete the shutout and led the Cobourg Cougars to a 3-0 win against the Wellington Dukes.

Cobourg was paced by Evan Jasper, who tallied one goal. Jasper scored 13:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg.

The Cougars forced Wellington goalie Matt Larose to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Cobourg additionally got points from Dalton Bew, who also had one goal and one assist. Cobourg also got a goal from Mitchell Burghardt as well. More assists for Cobourg came via Mark MacAulay, who had two.

The Dukes' offense operated below they season average. Wellington averages 3.0 goals per game. The Dukes' offense rang up 33 shots on Cobourg's net.

The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Matt Larose made 33 saves for Wellington on 36 shots. The Dukes avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays.
