Corey Kalk gave the North York Rangers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers when he scored 3:23 into the extra period. St. Michaels could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. North York made the score 3-1 on a power play goal by Kalk at 3:51 in the third period. The Buzzers pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Matt Buckles at 12:45 in the third period. Kalk had two goals to lead the Rangers to victory. North York made Buzzers' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. George Argiropoulos made 21 stops and Adrian Ignagni made 16. Ryan Kinsella also scored for North York. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Liam Kerins, who had three and Galli Austin, Chris Aitcheson, and Nicholas Geiser, who each chipped in one. The St. Michaels penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Buzzers surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Michaels forced the Rangers goalie Jason Pucciarelli to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Buzzers were helped by CJ Shugart, who grabbed one goal. Shugart scored 17:28 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Jordan Merante assisted on the tally. St. Michaels also got a goal from David Italiano as well. More assists for St. Michaels came via Michael Neville, who had two and Ian Edmondson, Stephen Pietrobon, and Patrick McCarron, who contributed one a piece. Pucciarelli rejected 31 shots on goal for North York. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. North York ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Taylor Pryce was ejected from the game. St. Michaels registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. For the Buzzers, Jake Evans was ejected from the game.
