Toronto wins tough contest against Orangeville, 5-3Chesswood Arena Sun, Dec 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Junior Canadiens escaped with a 5-3 victory over the Orangeville Flyers. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Aaron Spivak at 4:03 of the second period. Spivak had two goals to lead Toronto to victory. The Junior Canadiens kept Orangeville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bo Bessette made 43 saves on 48 shots. Dalton APM Hnatko also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Mark Spadafora, Danny Liscio, Connor Prudames, Cody Thompson, and Travis Hill, who each chipped in one and Aaron Thow and Anthony Repaci, who contributed two a piece. The Flyers forced Junior Canadiens' netminders to work all game long, ripping 41 shots and forcing 38 saves. Nathan Colitto made 26 stops and Denny Dubblestyne made 12. Orangeville was led by Jordan Carvalho, who registered one goal and two assists. Carvalho scored 3:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Joshua Decosta assisted on the tally. Orangeville also got points from Blake Forslund, who also had one goal and one assist. Orangeville also got a goal from Kyle Wood as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Kyle Thacker, who had one. Toronto incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
