Lucas Peressini recorded a shutout against the Kingston Voyageurs as the Newmarket Hurricanes picked up a 1-0 win.

Brandon Francisco's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 19:14 in the third period. Daniel Leavens provided the assist.

Newmarket was led by Francisco, who racked up one goal.

The Hurricanes stifled Kingston's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Newmarket was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Hurricanes allow 2.4 goals per game. Newmarket's offense rang up 47 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

Kingston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Voyageurs' offense operated below they season average.
