Josh Hickey made 32 saves to complete the shutout and led the Whitby Fury to a 3-0 win against the Wellington Dukes.

Whitby was led by Greg Milner, who had one goal. Milner scored 11:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Taylor Best picked up the assist.

The Fury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Whitby's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Fury allow 2.7 goals per game. Whitby's offense rang up 41 shots on Wellington's net.

Spencer MacCormack also scored for Whitby. Other players who recorded assists for Whitby were Jack Lewis, Sam Gray, and Matt Davis, who contributed one a piece.

The the Dukes penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 9.0 minutes per game Wellington had been spending in the box. The Dukes could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Wellington averages 3.1 goals per game. The Dukes' offense rang up 32 shots on the Fury's net.

Whitby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Matt Larose rejected 38 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake Marchment was ejected from the game.
