Toronto Lakeshore beats North York 3-0 as Pianta gains shutout

Joseph Pianta made 29 saves to complete the shutout and led the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots to a 3-0 win against the North York Rangers.

Toronto Lakeshore pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes.

The Patriots were led by Tyler Enns, who tallied one goal. Enns scored on the power play 1:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore. A delay of game penalty on Galli Austin had put Toronto Lakeshore on the power play. William Seligman provided the assist.

The Patriots stifled North York's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Toronto Lakeshore was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Patriots gives up 3.0 goals on average per game. Toronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 31 shots on the Rangers' net.

Toronto Lakeshore additionally got points from Kyle Dutra, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Daniel Tedesco as well. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Doug Bonar, Brody Heleno, Mike Vallescuro, and Alex D Oliveira, who each chipped in one.

North York was held below its usual level of production. The Rangers put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. North York's power play was punchless, and failed to score a single goal despite having nine power play opportunities.

The Patriots registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Jason Pucciarelli made 28 saves for the Rangers on 31 shots. North York incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
