Trenton rides Adamo to victory over Wellington, 3-1

The Trenton Golden Hawks relied on the sparkling performance of Victor Adamo in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Wellington Dukes.

Trenton was led by Jordan Minello, who tallied one goal. Minello scored on the power play 14:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. The Golden Hawks had gotten the advantage when Wellington's Brian Bunnett was sent off for interference. Sammy Banga assisted on the tally.

Trenton stifled the Dukes' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 45 shots on Wellington's net.

Trenton also got a goal from Mike Nedoszytko as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Josh Timpano, Michael Walker, Ori Abramson, and Brandon Scott, who contributed one a piece.

The Dukes managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Wellington wound up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game. The Dukes' offense operated below they season average. Wellington averages 3.1 goals per game.

The Dukes were led by Mike Soucier, who scored the team's only goal. Soucier scored 7:59 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wellington. Dominic Nitti picked up the assist.

Adamo recorded 27 saves for Trenton. The Golden Hawks incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Wellington's Matt Larose stopped 42 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Dukes registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
