Huge game by Chore boosts Oakville over North York, 4-2

The Oakville Blades' Patrick Chore had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 4-2 win over the North York Rangers.

Chore's tallies came on the power play at 19:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Oakville and 19:21 into the third to make the score 4-2 Oakville.

Oakville's penalty kill excelled, as the Blades gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19 seconds into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Oakville penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 16.0 minutes per game the Blades had been spending in the box. Oakville capitalized on North York's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.

Oakville also got points from Jonah Renouf, who also had two goals and one assist. In addition, Oakville received assists from Greg Campbell, who had one and Nathan Renouf and Stefan Leblanc, who contributed two a piece.

The Rangers were held below their usual level of production. North York averages 4.1 goals per game. The Rangers forced the Blades goalie Spencer Bacon to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

North York was helped by Corey Kalk, who registered one goal. Kalk scored on the power play 15:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York. A cross checking penalty on Harrison Domagala had put the Rangers on the power play. John Carpino picked up the assist. North York also got a goal from Ryan Kinsella as well. More assists for North York came via Patrick Piacentini and Dana Tenenbaum, who each chipped in one.

Spencer Bacon made 34 saves for Oakville on 36 shots. For the Blades, Matt Alvaro was ejected from the game. North York's Jason Pucciarelli stopped 14 shots out of the 17 that he faced. The Rangers ended with 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. North York ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Valadao Adam was ejected from the game.
