Georgetown outlasts Orangeville, 4-3

The Georgetown Raiders and the Orangeville Flyers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Georgetown made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and David Miller's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

John Adams was all over the ice for the Raiders, as he tallied two goals in the win. Adams' tallies came at 18:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown and on the power play 2:27 into the second to make the score 2-0 Georgetown.

Georgetown forced Orangeville goalie Bo Bessette to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Georgetown additionally got points from Robbie Murden, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Tyler McCarthy, Thomas Welsh, Liam Clare, Brendan Woods, and Anthony Marra, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers' offense rang up 34 shots on the Raiders' net.

Orangeville was helped by Joshua Decosta, who grabbed one goal. Decosta scored 16:35 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Kelby Lorenz picked up the assist. Orangeville also got points from Brandon Gaudette, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Keegan Ackerland also scored for Orangeville. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Ian Nichols, Blake Forslund, and Jordan Carvalho, who contributed one a piece.

Daniel Mannella recorded 31 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Flyers' Bessette stopped 34 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Orangeville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
