Wellington falls to Cobourg in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Cobourg Cougars' Dylan Goddard scored 3:40 into overtime to beat the Wellington Dukes, 3-2 (OT).

Goddard had two goals and one assist to lead Cobourg. Goddard scored the first of his two goals at 8:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Conor Carson picked up the assist. Goddard's next tally made the score 3-2 Cobourg with 16:20 left in overtime. Connor Armour provided the assist.

The Cougars kept Wellington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Larose made 33 saves on 36 shots.

Cobourg also got points from Cody Mintz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Cobourg was unable to stop the Dukes from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellington eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Dukes were helped by Brian Bunnett, who racked up one goal. Bunnett scored 12:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cobourg. Dominic Nitti picked up the assist. Wellington also got a goal from Josh Gervais as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Brody Morris and Kyle Paat, who contributed one a piece.

The Cougars' Nathan Perry stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Cobourg incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Wellington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
