Toronto Lakeshore holds on for 2-1 win against Buffalo

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots survived a determined comeback attempt by the Buffalo Jr. Sabres on the way to a 2-1 win.

Toronto Lakeshore took a 2-0 lead during the first period, only to have Buffalo storm back on a Ben Casale goal 7:18 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Patriots were paced by Wes Deme, who tallied one goal. Deme scored 17:47 into the first period to make the score Toronto Lakeshore. Michael Prapavessis provided the assist.

Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Daniel Tedesco as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Dylan Carter, Brandon Willett, and Alex D Oliveira, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres stifled Toronto Lakeshore's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Buffalo's offense operated below it season average. The Jr. Sabres average 4.2 goals per game.

In addition, Buffalo received assists from Josh Kielich and Pat Egan, who contributed one a piece.

Joseph Pianta made 20 saves for the Patriots on 21 shots. Toronto Lakeshore incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Patriots ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Carter was ejected from the game. Parker Gahagen rejected 22 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
