Whitby rolls over Wellington, 4-1

The Wellington Dukes had trouble finding ways to stop the Whitby Fury, which beat Dukes, 4-1.

Wellington's power play was ineffective against Whitby's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Fury were sparked by Matt Davis, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Davis scored 8:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Whitby. Jonathan OHara picked up the assist.

Whitby put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Dukes to score on any of their six power plays. The Fury's offense rang up 37 shots on Wellington's net.

Whitby also got a goal from Tyler Park as well. More assists for Whitby came via Chris Raguseo, who had two and Nick Neal, Sam Gray, Kevin Stevens, and Marco Azzano, who contributed one a piece.

The Dukes did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Wellington puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

The Dukes were led by Craig Campbell, who scored the team's only goal. Campbell scored 8:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Whitby.

Josh Hickey recorded 22 saves for Whitby. The Fury incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hayden Lavigne made 33 saves for Wellington on 37 shots. The Dukes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
