Georgetown falls to Oakville in overtime, 2-1 (OT)Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Fri, Nov 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades' Patrick Chore scored 2:15 into overtime to beat the Georgetown Raiders, 2-1 (OT). Georgetown was stymied by Oakville netminder Evan Buitenhuis, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Buitenhuis managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.12 prior to the game. The Blades were led by Chore, who racked up one goal. Oakville's offense operated below it season average. The Blades put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Len Fabbri also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Harrison Domagala, Jonah Renouf, Kris Bennet, and Greg Campbell, who each chipped in one. The Raiders could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Georgetown averages 3.8 goals per game. Oakville was unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. The Raiders were led by Brendan Woods, who scored the team's only goal. Woods scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. Steve Hladin assisted on the tally. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Georgetown's starting goalie, Gabe Grunwald, made 24 saves and finished with the otl before he was taken out in favor of Daniel Mannella, who stopped four shots. The Raiders totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Georgetown, Tyler McCarthy was ejected from the game.
