Trenton boosted by Adamo's play in net, beats Newmarket 2-1

Victor Adamo had a standout game with 29 saves, and the Trenton Golden Hawks beat the Newmarket Hurricanes 2-1.

Trenton was sparked by Sammy Banga, who tallied one goal. Banga scored 4:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Jordan Minello assisted on the tally.

The Golden Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Newmarket power plays.

Truman Landowski also scored for Trenton. More assists for Trenton came via Erlich Doerksen, Robbie Hall, and Nick Marinac, who each chipped in one.

Newmarket excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

The Hurricanes were led by Chris Chiste, who scored the team's only goal. Chiste scored 2:07 into the third period to make the score 1-1. David Savery provided the assist.

Trenton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Matthew Wintjes made 19 saves for Newmarket on 21 shots. The Hurricanes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
