Larose leads Wellington to shutout victory over WhitbyIroquois - Rink#1 Sun, Nov 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Matt Larose made 34 saves to complete the shutout and led the Wellington Dukes to a 4-0 win against the Whitby Fury. Wellington was paced by Craig Campbell, who registered one goal and one assist. Campbell scored on the power play 3:46 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wellington. The Dukes had gotten the advantage when Whitby's Sam Gray was sent off for cross checking. Erick Delaurentis provided the assist. Wellington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Fury to score on any of their four power plays. The Dukes featured an improved defense during the game. Wellington averages 2.7 goals allowed per game. Evan Erickson also scored for Wellington. In addition, Wellington received assists from Brody Morris, Brian Bunnett, Dominic Nitti, and Nik Coric, who contributed one a piece. Whitby could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Fury put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Whitby forced the Dukes goalie Larose to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Wellington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Dukes, Jake Marchment was ejected from the game. Tyler Feaver rejected 26 shots on goal for the Fury. Whitby incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
