Huge game by Venuto boosts Mississauga over Toronto Lakeshore, 7-2Port Credit Arena Sun, Nov 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Lucas Venuto had two goals and one assist to lead the Mississauga Chargers to a 7-2 victory over the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots. Venuto's tallies came on the power play at 14:50 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Mississauga and on the power play 16:28 into the first to make the score 3-1 Mississauga.Mississauga put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toronto Lakeshore to score on any of its four power plays. The Chargers bested their season scoring average. Mississauga has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Mississauga also got points from A Latina, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points and Trevor Warnaar, who also had one goal and two assists. Mississauga also got a goal from Nicholas Palumbo as well. More assists for Mississauga came via B Beasley, who had two and Ryan Hunter, Nick Tetley, A Valente, and Mitchell Mehling, who contributed one a piece. The Patriots kept the Chargers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Lepore made 42 saves on 44 shots. Toronto Lakeshore struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Mississauga to score three power play goals on three chances. The Patriots were helped by Marcus Rose, who registered one goal. Rose scored 10:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kevin Pietrobon provided the assist. Brandon Willett also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. In addition, Toronto Lakeshore received assists from Angelpooulos Peter, Luke Carter, and Doug Bonar, who each chipped in one. The Chargers ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Mississauga, Warnaar was ejected from the game. Stormer Santana took the loss and made 14 saves before being replaced by Matt Gwillam AP who made six saves. Toronto Lakeshore incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
