Huge game by Renouf boosts Oakville over Mississauga, 6-1Port Credit Arena Sat, Nov 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades' Jonah Renouf had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-1 win over the Mississauga Chargers. Renouf's tallies came at 6:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville and on the power play 9:45 into the first to make the score 2-0 Oakville.Oakville forced Mississauga goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 58 shots. Oakville also got points from Kris Bennet, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Eli Berg as well. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Aidan Orbinski, Harrison Domagala, Eric Chore, and Rory Bell, who contributed one a piece and Nathan Renouf, Greg Campbell, and Spencer Green, who each chipped in two. The Chargers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Mississauga averages 3.3 goals per game. The Chargers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. Mississauga was led by Matthew Hore, who scored the team's only goal. Hore scored 3:54 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Oakville. Evan Buitenhuis recorded 24 saves for the Blades. Oakville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Chargers' Washkurak stopped 52 shots out of the 58 that he faced. Mississauga registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
