Aurora penalty kill dominates in 5-2 defeat of LindsayAurora Community Centre Sat, Nov 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lindsay Muskies failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Aurora Tigers shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2. Aurora was led by Taylor McCloy, who registered one goal. McCloy scored 7:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Aurora. Michael Keenan picked up the assist. The Tigers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Lindsay power plays. Aurora forced Lindsay goalie Tanner Davis to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. The Tigers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Aurora averages 2.8 goals per contest. Aurora additionally got points from Daniel Lisi, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Matt Andreacchi, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Aurora also got a goal from Kory Kennedy as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Tyler Shaw, Justin Nice, and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in one. The Muskies found themselves short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. Lindsay was helped by Dean Klomp, who had one goal. Klomp scored 7:25 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Aurora. Matt McCartney provided the assist. Felix Chamberland also scored for Lindsay. More assists for Lindsay came via Louis-David Bourgault, Tyler Donaldson, and Jake Taylor, who contributed one a piece. Kevin Entmaa made 26 saves for the Tigers on 28 shots. Aurora incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Davis rejected 38 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bryce Sweeting was ejected from the game.
