Toronto downs North York in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Toronto Junior Canadiens' Derek Perl scored 4:59 into overtime to beat the North York Rangers, 5-4 (OT).

Toronto came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Junior Canadiens trailed 4-2 after a short handed goal by North York's Corey Kalk at 1:06 in the third period. Toronto knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Daniel Lombardi at 10:07 in the third period.

Cody Thompson was all over the ice for the Junior Canadiens, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Thompson scored 16:16 into the first period to make the score 2-1 North York. Lombardi picked up the assist.

Toronto kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Keogh Jacob made 27 saves on 32 shots. The defensemen of the Junior Canadiens were also effective in North York's zone, and came away with two goals. Toronto could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Toronto additionally got points from Lombardi, who also registered one goal and one assist, Connor Prudames, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Anthony Repaci, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Toronto received assists from Aaron Spivak, who had two and Aaron Thow, Gregory Di Tomaso, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

North York also got points from Liam Kerins, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Michael Giacometti also scored for North York. More assists for North York came via Patrick Piacentini, who had two and Power Brody and Chris Aitcheson, who contributed one a piece.

Nathan Colitto recorded 30 saves for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Toronto ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Adam Logozzo was ejected from the game. The Rangers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
