Milton completes comeback, beats Georgetown, 6-5Mold-Master SportsPlex Sat, Nov 17, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Milton Icehawks rallied from two goals down to secure a 6-5 win over the Georgetown Raiders. Milton never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Icehawks fell behind 4-2 after a goal by Georgetown's Richard Court at 6:31 in the second period. Milton tied things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Shane Bennett at 17:30 in the third period. The Icehawks got the game winner at 19:20 in the third period on a goal by Bennett. The Raiders were unable to stop Milton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Icehawks eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Milton also got points from Jonathon Buttitta, who also registered one goal and two assists. Brad Kobryn also scored for Milton. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Poul Gonzalez and Christan Defazio, who each chipped in one and Austin Kosack and Daniel Holt, who contributed three a piece. Georgetown forced Milton goalie Braden Mann to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Raiders were helped by Nicholas Dozzi, who had two goals and one assist. Dozzi scored the first of his two goals at 18:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Brendan Woods assisted on the tally. Dozzi's next tally made the score 3-1 Georgetown with 18:41 left in the second period. David Miller picked up the assist. Georgetown additionally got points from Thomas Welsh, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Miller, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. More assists for Georgetown came via Tyler McCarthy, Santino Centorame, and John Adams, who each chipped in one. The Icehawks' Mann stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Milton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Daniel Mannella rejected 27 shots on goal for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
