Whitby holds on for 4-2 win against CobourgCobourg Community Centre Mon, Nov 12, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cobourg Cougars tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Whitby Fury would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. A goal by Greg Milner put Whitby up 4-1 in the third period, but Cobourg pulled to within two on Evan Jasper's tally 13:35 into the third period. Henry Thompson was all over the ice for the Fury, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Thompson scored 19:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Whitby. Taylor Best provided the assist. The Cougars were unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Whitby also got points from Spencer MacCormack, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Whitby also got a goal from Chris Raguseo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Whitby were Mike Panowyk, who had one and Matt Davis, who had two. Cobourg's offense rang up 34 shots on Whitby's net. The Cougars were led by Connor Armour, who registered one goal and one assist. Armour scored 4:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Rylee McKinnon assisted on the tally. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Dylan Goddard, who had two. Tyler Feaver rejected 32 shots on goal for the Fury. Whitby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cobourg's Nathan Perry stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
