Toronto beats Orangeville 4-3 after comeback scare

The Toronto Junior Canadiens survived a determined comeback attempt by the Orangeville Flyers on the way to a 4-3 win.

A goal by Danny Liscio put Toronto up 3-0 in the first period, but Orangeville pulled to within one on Blake Forslund's tally 7:25 into the third period.

The Junior Canadiens were led by Anthony Repaci, who finished with one goal and one assist. Repaci scored 17:36 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Toronto. Nicholas Jarzabek provided the assist.

Toronto forced the Flyers' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 39 shots and forcing 35 saves. Bo Bessette made 27 stops and Taylor Welsh made eight. The Junior Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Toronto also got points from Jimin Kim, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Derek Perl also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Mark Spadafora, Adam Logozzo, Aaron Spivak, and Marc Silvestro, who contributed one a piece.

Orangeville also got a goal from Kelby Lorenz as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Jayme Forslund, Kyle Wood, Kyle Thacker, Brandon Gaudette, and Jason Abbott, who each chipped in one.

Denny Dubblestyne rejected 24 shots on goal for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Orangeville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
