The Lindsay Muskies survived a determined comeback attempt by the Newmarket Hurricanes on the way to a 6-5 win. A goal by Matt McCartney put Lindsay up 6-3 in the third period, but Newmarket pulled to within one on Matt LeMasurier's tally 13:50 into the third period. The Muskies forced Hurricanes' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Lucas Peressini made 23 stops and Matthew Wintjes made four. Lindsay found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Muskies average 3.3 goals per game. Lindsay was led by Dean Klomp, who racked up three goals. Lindsay also got points from McCartney, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Terry Snoddon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Vince Herlihey also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Brian Hubers, who had two, Dylan Fitze, who had three, and Patrick Thornton, Patrick Hamilton, Louis-David Bourgault, Felix Chamberland, and Tyler Donaldson, who each chipped in one. The Hurricanes kept the Muskies' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 37 saves on 42 shots. Newmarket gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Hurricanes are averaging 2.3 goals against for the season. Newmarket was helped by Thomas Beretta, who registered one goal. Beretta scored 14:24 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Justin Maiolino provided the assist. Newmarket additionally got points from LeMasurier, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Newmarket also got a goal from Jeff Murray as well. More assists for Newmarket came via Daniel Leavens, who had two and Travis Dermott, Sean Walker, Chris Chiste, Elliott Burlon, Calvin Higley, and Ian Farrell, who contributed one a piece. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hurricanes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Newmarket ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Farrell was ejected from the game.
