Aurora uses shootout to best Whitby, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Aurora Tigers defeated the Whitby Fury in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Whitby's shootout goal was scored by Greg Milner. Aurora also got a shootout goal from Dylan Wallace.

The Tigers came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Aurora was down 2-0 after a power play goal by the Fury's Sam Gray at 4:37 in the first period. The Tigers knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Robert Angiolella at 8:11 in the third period.

Aurora was led by Angiolella, who had one goal.

The Tigers forced Whitby goalie Tyler Feaver to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Aurora additionally got points from Kory Kennedy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Matt Andreacchi as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Daniel Clairmont, who had one and Tyler Shaw and Dylan Sikura, who contributed two a piece.

The Fury kept Aurora's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kevin Entmaa made 35 saves on 38 shots.

Henry Thompson also scored for Whitby. More assists for Whitby came via Spencer MacCormack, Jack Lewis, Milner, Mike Panowyk, and Steven Deeg, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Feaver rejected 42 shots on goal for Whitby. The Fury incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
