Toronto Lakeshore uses shootout to best North York, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots defeated the North York Rangers in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. North York's shootout goal was scored by Liam Kerins. Toronto Lakeshore's other shootout goal was scored by William Seligman.

The Patriots were led by Alex D Oliveira, who had one goal. D Oliveira scored 12:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore.

In a losing effort, the Rangers were led by John Carpino, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Carpino scored on the power play 16:27 into the third period to make the score 3-3. A slashing penalty on Alex Mills had put North York on the power play. Valadao Adam picked up the assist.

Toronto Lakeshore was often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The Patriots surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game.

Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Wes Deme as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Nathan Feric, Doug Bonar, Kyle Dutra, and Brody Heleno, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers' offense rang up 33 shots on Toronto Lakeshore's net.

North York also got points from Corey Kalk, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Patrick Piacentini also scored for North York.

The Patriots' Stormer Santana stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Toronto Lakeshore registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. For the Patriots, Mills and Michael Apreda were ejected from the contest. Jason Pucciarelli made 22 saves for North York on 25 shots. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
