Georgetown vanquishes Toronto in shootout, 3-2 (2-0 SO)Mold-Master SportsPlex Sat, Nov 03, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Georgetown Raiders defeated the Toronto Junior Canadiens in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO). The two teams needed five turns to complete the shootout. In addition to the clincher, Georgetown got a shootout goal from David Miller.The Raiders kept Toronto's goalie busy throughout the game, and Denny Dubblestyne made 32 saves on 35 shots. Georgetown was helped by Brendan Woods, who racked up one goal. Woods scored 9:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Miller assisted on the tally. Scott Emerson also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Nicholas Dozzi, who had one and Michael Stevens, who had two. The Junior Canadiens stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Toronto was helped by Anthony Repaci, who grabbed one goal. Repaci scored 5:55 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Aaron Spivak provided the assist. Toronto also got a goal from Nicholas Jarzabek as well. In addition, Toronto received assists from Dalton APM Hnatko, Connor Prudames, and Travis Hill, who contributed one a piece. Gabe Grunwald rejected 24 shots on goal for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Junior Canadiens incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
