Milner leads Whitby over Pickering, 4-1Pickering Recreation Complex Fri, Nov 02, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Greg Milner was all over the ice for the Whitby Fury, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Whitby's 4-1 win over the Pickering Panthers. Milner's tallies came at 2:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby and on the power play 9:10 into the third to make the score 2-1 Whitby.The Fury's Tyler Feaver was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 33 saves and let only one puck past him. Feaver managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.51 prior to the game. Pickering's power play was ineffective against Whitby's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Fury's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Pickering power plays. Whitby forced the Panthers goalie CJ Sharp to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Whitby also got points from Sam Gray, who also had one goal and one assist. Jack Lewis also scored for Whitby. Other players who recorded assists for Whitby were Chris Raguseo, Matt Eddy, and Taylor Best, who contributed one a piece. The Fury were unable to stop Pickering from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Pickering was led by Alex Clements, who scored the team's only goal. Clements scored 16:17 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Derek Sheppard provided the assist. Whitby incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Panthers' Sharp stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Pickering incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
