Alex Murray stood on his head and made 34 saves to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 3-1 victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers. Burlington pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Cougars were paced by Mark Rodgers, who registered one goal. Rodgers scored 19:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Burlington. Adam Burnett picked up the assist. Burlington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Michaels to score on any of its six power plays. The Buzzers were unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Burlington eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Burlington additionally got points from Jeremy Gottzmann, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Burlington also got a goal from Gavin Shantz as well. In addition, Burlington received assists from Steven Mueller, Joe Sullivan, and Luke Sinclair, who each chipped in one. St. Michaels' offense operated below it season average. The Buzzers average 4.0 goals per game. St. Michaels' offense rang up 35 shots on the Cougars' net. The Buzzers were led by Ted Hunt, who scored the team's only goal. Hunt scored 9:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mike Lansdowne provided the assist. Burlington registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. St. Michaels' George Argiropoulos stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Buzzers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
