Lindsay survives Stouffville comeback, wins 5-3Stouffville Arena Thu, Nov 01, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stouffville Spirit tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Lindsay Muskies would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3. Lindsay took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have Stouffville storm back on a Jacob Bauchman goal 16 seconds into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Muskies' offense rang up 36 shots on the Spirit's net. Lindsay was helped by Felix Chamberland, who racked up one goal. Chamberland scored on the power play 14:34 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Lindsay. The Muskies had taken the advantage when Stouffville's Matthew Heffernan got sent off for cross checking. Vince Herlihey assisted on the tally. Lindsay additionally got points from Cole Murduff, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Terry Snoddon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Matt McCartney as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Louis-David Bourgault and Corey Jackson, who each chipped in one and Dylan Fitze and Jesse Gregory, who contributed two a piece. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Matthew Dunlop, who had one, Nathanael Halbert, who had two, and Alex Botten, who had three. Lindsay's Tanner Davis stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Muskies incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Knick Dawe rejected 31 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
