The Toronto Junior Canadiens tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the North York Rangers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. North York made the score 3-0 on a goal by Michael Giacometti at 1:03 in the second period, and Toronto got as close as 3-1 when Danny Liscio scored 2:13 into the third period. Giacometti had two goals to lead the Rangers to victory. North York's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Toronto power plays. The Rangers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. North York additionally got points from Liam Kerins, who also had one goal and one assist.
