The Kingston Voyageurs took the lead against the Aurora Tigers in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 1-0 victory.

Graham Yeo provided Kingston with the game-winning tally when he scored 16:07 into the the first period. The Voyageurs had taken the advantage when Aurora's Kory Kennedy got sent off for cross checking. Chad Duchesne assisted on the tally.

Kingston was boosted by Charlie Finn, who turned in a shutout with 46 saves. The solid play of Finn will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.39.

The Tigers' power play was ineffective against the Voyageurs' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Kingston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Aurora to score on any of its six power plays. The Voyageurs' offense operated below they season average. Kingston puts an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. The Voyageurs' defensive effort looked to be improved. Kingston allows 2.8 goals per game.

In addition, Kingston received assists from Kris Grant, who had one.

The Tigers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Aurora averages 2.8 goals per game. The Tigers' offense rang up 46 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

Kingston incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kevin Entmaa made 22 saves for Aurora on 23 shots. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
