Mikowski lifts Buffalo over Toronto, 4-1Chesswood Arena Sat, Oct 27, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Max Mikowski had two goals to lead the Buffalo Jr. Sabres to a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Junior Canadiens. Mikowski's tallies came on the power play at 17:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo and 36 seconds into the second to make the score 2-0 Buffalo.Buffalo was led by goalie Bobby Bloomfield, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Bloomfield will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.74. The Jr. Sabres forced Toronto goalie Nathan Colitto to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Jason Heerdt also scored for Buffalo. The Junior Canadiens' offense rang up 33 shots on Buffalo's net. The Jr. Sabres totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Buffalo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ruff was ejected from the game. Colitto rejected 35 shots on goal for Toronto. The Junior Canadiens totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Toronto, Aaron Thow was ejected from the game.
