McCarron leads St. Michaels over Georgetown, 4-1

Patrick McCarron had one goal and two assists to lead the St. Michaels Buzzers to a 4-1 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.

McCarron beat Daniel Mannella with a shot 19:31 into the third period to make the score 3-1 St. Michaels. Michael Neville provided the assist. McCarron dished an assist on Matt Buckles' goal that made the score 2-1 St. Michaels at 7:02 into the third period. He added another helper on David Italiano's goal that made the score 4-1 St. Michaels at 19:59 into the third period.

St. Michaels' penalty kill excelled, as the Buzzers gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

St. Michaels stifled Georgetown's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

St. Michaels also got points from Buckles, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Mike Lansdowne, Jared Walsh, and Troy Josephs, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders' offense operated below they season average. Georgetown averages 3.4 goals per game. The Raiders kept the Buzzers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adrian Ignagni made 36 saves on 37 shots.

Georgetown was led by Robbie Murden, who scored the team's only goal. Murden scored short handed 1:07 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Raiders played down a man on David Miller's high sticking. Steve Hladin assisted on the tally.

St. Michaels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mannella recorded 22 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Georgetown, Brendan Woods was ejected from the game.
