Chris Chiste had two goals and one assist to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 3-1 victory over the Pickering Panthers. Chiste found the back of the net 4:48 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Newmarket and again while 5:59 into the third to make the score 3-1 Newmarket.Taylor Chick also scored for Newmarket. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Jordan Dunin, who had two and Daniel Leavens, who had three. Pickering's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Newmarket power plays. The Panthers were led by Alex Clements, who scored the team's only goal. Clements scored 14:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Hutton provided the assist. Lucas Peressini rejected 15 shots on goal for Newmarket. The Hurricanes incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Spencer Bacon recorded 23 saves for Pickering. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
