The Aurora Tigers had trouble finding ways to stop the Newmarket Hurricanes, which beat Tigers, 6-2. Daniel Leavens was all over the ice for Newmarket, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Leavens scored short handed 15:15 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Newmarket. The Hurricanes played down a man on Brandon Francisco's hooking. Taylor Chick assisted on the tally. Newmarket's offense rang up 45 shots on Aurora's net. The Hurricanes found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Newmarket averages 3.3 goals per contest. The Tigers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hurricanes to score on any of their three power plays.
