Trenton beats Whitby 4-3 after comeback scareIroquois - Rink#1 Sun, Oct 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Whitby Fury tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Trenton Golden Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Trenton took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Whitby storm back on a Chris Raguseo goal 16 seconds into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Golden Hawks made the Fury's goaltenders to work all game long, ripping 38 shots and forcing 34 saves. Tyler Feaver made 23 stops and Josh Hickey made 11. Trenton was helped by Ryan Johnson, who grabbed one goal. Johnson scored 14 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Krystian Yorke assisted on the tally. Trenton also got points from Matt Andreacchi, who also registered one goal and one assist. Josh Timpano also scored for Trenton. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Brandon Scott, who had two and Mike Nedoszytko and Robbie Hall, who each chipped in one. The Golden Hawks were unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. Whitby was helped by Taylor Best, who finished with one goal and one assist. Best scored 5:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. Tyler Park provided the assist. Whitby additionally got points from Raguseo, who also had one goal and one assist and Spencer MacCormack, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Whitby received assists from Nick Neal and Matt Davis, who contributed one a piece. Andrew Winsor rejected 35 shots on goal for Trenton. The Golden Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Fury incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
