Wellington falls to Aurora in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Aurora Community Centre Sat, Oct 20, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Wellington Dukes on a clutch goal by Daniel Clairmont. Aurora overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Tigers was down 2-0 after a goal by Wellington's Parker Wood at 14:02 in the second period. Aurora tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Robert Angiolella at 19:57 in the third period. The Tigers were sparked by Clairmont, who finished with one goal and one assist. Clairmont scored 1:15 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Jordan Brown provided the assist. Aurora's offense rang up 50 shots on the Dukes' net. Aurora also got a goal from Daniel Lisi as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Taylor McCloy and Kory Kennedy, who contributed one a piece. Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Dukes were helped by Coleman Foisy, who grabbed one goal. Foisy scored on the power play 16:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellington. Wellington had taken the advantage when the Tigers' Trevor Hughson got sent off for slashing. Dominic Nitti assisted on the tally. In addition, Wellington received assists from Nolan Powers, Kyle Paat, and Jan Kaminsky, who each chipped in one. Aurora's Kevin Entmaa stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hayden Lavigne made 47 saves for the Dukes on 50 shots. Wellington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
