Lindsay boosted by Davis' play in net, beats Stouffville 4-1Lindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Oct 19, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Tanner Davis helped the Lindsay Muskies defeat the Stouffville Spirit, 4-1. Lindsay's penalty kill excelled, as the Muskies gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Lindsay was sparked by Jesse Gregory, who racked up one goal. Gregory scored 3:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Lindsay. Terry Snoddon picked up the assist. The Muskies stifled Stouffville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lindsay forced the Spirit goalie Knick Dawe to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Muskies' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Lindsay finished with 34 penalty minutes. Lindsay additionally got points from Dylan Fitze, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Vince Herlihey also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Patrick Thornton, Louis-David Bourgault, Felix Chamberland, and Tyler Donaldson, who each chipped in one. Stouffville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Muskies to score on any of their seven power plays. The Spirit's offense operated below they season average. Stouffville puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. The Spirit's offense rang up 39 shots on Lindsay's net. Stouffville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. The Spirit were led by Jacob Bauchman, who scored the team's only goal. Bauchman scored 14:07 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Lindsay. Robert Powers provided the assist. Davis rejected 38 shots on goal for the Muskies. Dawe recorded 42 saves for Stouffville.
