The Lindsay Muskies took the lead against the Trenton Golden Hawks in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory. A goal 4:56 into the the first period by Dean Klomp proved to be the game winner, and powered Lindsay to the victory Dylan Fitze assisted on the tally.Tanner Davis spearheaded the defensive effort for the Muskies, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 36 saves for the shutout. The solid play of Davis will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.29. Lindsay was sparked by Klomp, who finished with one goal. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:19 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Muskies made Golden Hawks' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 41 shots and forcing 39 saves. Victor Adamo made 37 stops and Andrew Winsor made two. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Vince Herlihey and Brian Hubers, who each chipped in one. The Golden Hawks were often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. Trenton had been averaging 14.0 minutes in penalties per game.
