Gourlay leads Milton over Buffalo, 6-3Milton Memorial Arena Sun, Oct 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Milton Icehawks' Spencer Gourlay had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. Gourlay found the back of the net 1:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton and again while 4:16 into the second to make the score 3-1 Milton.Milton's penalty kill excelled, as the Icehawks gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Milton kept Buffalo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Parker Gahagen made 36 saves on 42 shots. Milton additionally got points from Bryce Abraham, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Shane Bennett, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kane Elliot also scored for Milton. In addition, Milton received assists from Tyler Burns, Brad Kobryn, Michael Capicotto, and Justin Devincentis, who contributed one a piece and Jonathon Buttitta and Josh Pace, who each chipped in two. The Jr. Sabres stifled the Icehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Justin Urquhart rejected 31 shots on goal for the Icehawks. Milton incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Sabres incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
