Huge game by Kerins boosts North York over Milton, 8-5

The North York Rangers' Liam Kerins had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 8-5 win over the Milton Icehawks.

Kerins got on the board by slotting home a goal 3:21 into the first period to make the score 2-1 North York. Brad Kobryn assisted on the tally.

North York made Icehawks' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 34 shots and forcing 26 saves. Andre Keire made 16 stops and Justin Urquhart made 10. The Rangers stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. North York found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Rangers have scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of North York were also effective in the Icehawks' zone, and came away with two goals.

North York also got points from Chris Aitcheson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Corey Kalk, who also had one goal and one assist, and Taylor Pryce, who also registered one goal and one assist. Power Brody also scored for North York. Other players who recorded assists for North York were John Carpino, who had two and Patrick Piacentini, Ryan Kinsella, Dana Tenenbaum, Scott Maguire, and Matthew Whittaker, who contributed one a piece.

Milton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five North York power plays. The Rangers were unable to stop the Icehawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Milton eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

The Icehawks were led by Kane Elliot, who racked up four goals. Milton also got a goal from Shane Bennett as well. More assists for Milton came via Justin Devincentis, who had two and Brock Bottachio, Tyler Burns, Austin Kosack, and Ryan Burns, who each chipped in one.

Keogh Jacob recorded 39 saves for North York. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Milton incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
