Wellington completes comeback, beats Kingston, 5-4

The Wellington Dukes rallied from three goals down to secure a 5-4 win over the Kingston Voyageurs.

Wellington never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Dukes fell behind 4-1 after a goal by Kingston's Tyler McCarthy at 11:30 in the second period. Wellington tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Brian Bunnett at 17:45 in the third period. The Dukes scored the game winner at 18:56 in the third period on a goal by Bunnett.

Erick Delaurentis was all over the ice for Wellington, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win.

The Dukes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Voyageurs were unable to stop Wellington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dukes eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. The defensemen of Wellington were also effective in Kingston's zone, and came away with two goals.

Wellington also got points from Bunnett, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Joe McKeown, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Wellington also got a goal from Abbot Girduckis as well. More assists for Wellington came via Josh Finkelstein, who had two and Brody Morris, Mike Soucier, and Kyle Paat, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs were helped by Brett Seney, who registered one goal and one assist. Seney scored 10:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Scott Mossman picked up the assist. Kingston additionally got points from Mossman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Michael Schug also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Brandon O Quinn, who had two and David Quesnele, Brandon Wolframe, Brett Du Puy, and Taylor Brown, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Larose rejected 26 shots on goal for the Dukes. Wellington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brandon O'Neil recorded 32 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
