Lindsay outlasts Aurora, 5-3

The Lindsay Muskies and the Aurora Tigers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Lindsay made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Dean Klomp's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Klomp was all over the ice for the Muskies, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Klomp scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:57 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Lindsay. Lindsay had taken the advantage when Aurora's Trevor Hughson got sent off for delay of game. Dylan Fitze provided the assist. Klomp's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Lindsay with 4:08 left in the third period. Jesse Gregory assisted on the tally.

The Tigers were unable to stop the Muskies from sending pucks towards the net, and Lindsay eventually piled up 54 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Muskies were also effective in Aurora's zone, and came away with two goals.

Cole Murduff also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Patrick Thornton, Vince Herlihey, Louis-David Bourgault, Felix Chamberland, and Corey Jackson, who contributed one a piece.

The Tigers were helped by Daniel Clairmont, who registered one goal. Clairmont scored on the power play 5:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Aurora had gotten the advantage when Lindsay's Jacob Walters was sent off for holding. Kyle Liu picked up the assist. Aurora also got a goal from Jordan Brown as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Dylan Sikura, who had one.

Tanner Davis rejected 25 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brett Sinclair recorded 49 saves for the Tigers. Aurora incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
