Harris' hat trick boosts Kingston over Cobourg, 6-3INVISTA Center Thu, Oct 11, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Ludlow Harris lifted the Kingston Voyageurs to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against the Cobourg Cougars. Harris got on the scoresheet 12:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:45 into the first and at 16:21 into the third.Kingston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Voyageurs' goal total was higher than their season average. Kingston has scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Aidan Wright also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Graham Yeo, who had three and Kris Grant, Brandon O Quinn, Brandon Wolframe, Brett Du Puy, and Taylor Brown, who each chipped in one. Cobourg kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 35 saves on 38 shots. The Cougars' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Cobourg finished with 40 penalty minutes. The Cougars were led by Evan Jasper, who finished with one goal and two assists. Jasper scored 16:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colbie Andrews assisted on the tally. Cobourg also got a goal from Nick Clark as well. More assists for Cobourg came via Cody Mintz and Conner Hogg, who contributed one a piece. Kingston registered three goals on 12 power play opportunities. Emerson Verrier made 24 saves for Cobourg on 30 shots. The Cougars registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Cobourg ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Taylor Gauld was ejected from the game.
