Wellington outlasts Aurora, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Wellington Dukes escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Aurora Tigers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Craig Campbell secured the win for Wellington with a goal in the third period.

The Dukes were led by Campbell, who racked up one goal. Campbell scored 19:13 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Wellington. Erick Delaurentis picked up the assist.

Wellington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Dukes forced Aurora goalie Kevin Entmaa to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Wellington additionally got points from Parker Wood, who also registered one goal and one assist. Spencer Turcotte also scored for Wellington. More assists for Wellington came via Jan Kaminsky, who had two and Josh Finkelstein and Kyle Paat, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wellington to score on any of its seven power plays. Aurora's offense rang up 45 shots on the Dukes' net.

The Tigers were helped by Robert Angiolella, who tallied one goal and one assist. Angiolella scored 11:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kory Kennedy assisted on the tally. Aurora also got points from Kennedy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Aurora received assists from Daniel Lisi, who had one.

Matt Larose recorded 43 saves for Wellington. The Dukes incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aurora's Entmaa stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Tigers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
