Stouffville uses shootout to best Kingston, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Stouffville Spirit defeated the Kingston Voyageurs in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Kingston's shootout goal was scored by Francesco Vilardi. Stouffville's other shootout goal was scored by Dylan Savory.

The Spirit came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Stouffville fell behind 3-2 after a goal by the Voyageurs' Ludlow Harris at 13:35 in the second period. The Spirit knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Robert Powers at 19:55 in the third period.

Stouffville was led by Jacob Bauchman, who racked up one goal. Bauchman scored 9:49 into the second period to make the score 2-2.

The Spirit's offense rang up 37 shots on Kingston's net.

Stouffville also got a goal from Mackenzie Wood as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Justin Wain, Matthew Heffernan, Alex Botten, and Joseph Deveny, who each chipped in one.

Stouffville was unable to stop the Voyageurs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kingston eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Kingston also got points from Michael Schug, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Kingston received assists from Graham Yeo, David Quesnele, and Alex Tonge, who contributed one a piece.

Knick Dawe rejected 35 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Charlie Finn recorded 33 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
