A hat trick by Taylor Best was the highlight in Fury's 5-1 win against the Pickering Panthers. Best got on the scoresheet 11:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:30 into the first and at 15:00 into the third.Pickering was stymied by the Whitby Fury netminder Tyler Feaver, who stopped 27 shots during the victory. Feaver managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.52 prior to the game. The Panthers were unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Whitby bested its season scoring average. The Fury have scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Whitby also got a goal from Jack Lewis as well. More assists for Whitby came via Steven Deeg, who had three and Sean Deroch, Matt Eddy, Tyler Park, Nick Neal, Matt Davis, and Marco Azzano, who each chipped in one. Pickering stifled Whitby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Panthers were led by Jarett Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored 15:00 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Whitby. Andrew McCann assisted on the tally. The Fury totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Whitby ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Deroch was ejected from the game. Spencer Bacon recorded 28 saves for Pickering. The Panthers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Pickering, Micah Nichols was ejected from the game.
