Huge game by Renouf boosts Oakville over Orangeville, 8-2

Jonah Renouf had two goals and one assist to lead the Oakville Blades to an 8-2 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

Renouf found the back of the net on the power play 16:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 12:19 into the second to make the score 3-2 Oakville.

Orangeville was unable to stop Oakville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Oakville bested its season scoring average. The Blades average 4.5 goals per game.

Oakville additionally got points from Nathan Renouf, who also registered one goal and two assists, Len Fabbri, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Spencer Green, who also registered one goal and two assists. Oakville also got a goal from Kris Bennet as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Patrick Chore, who had four, Zach Berg and Stefan Leblanc, who contributed one a piece, and Aidan Orbinski and Kyle Jenkins, who each chipped in two.

The Flyers were helped by Keegan Ackerland, who had one goal. Ackerland scored 1:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Jordan Carvalho picked up the assist. Orangeville also got points from Carvalho, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Orangeville came via Kyle Thacker, who had one and Brandon Gaudette, who had two.

Evan Buitenhuis made 21 saves for Oakville on 23 shots. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Orangeville's Taylor Welsh stopped 32 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
